Revere America Urges Congress to To Repeal Health Care Law
Washington, D.C., Jan. 18, 2011 -- Former New York Governor George E. Pataki, Honorary Chairman of Revere America, called for swift, bipartisan action to repeal the health care law enacted last year:
“On behalf of the 1.1 million people who signed Revere America’s petition to repeal and replace the federal health care law – we urge swift and bipartisan passage of legislation now pending in the U.S. House of Representatives. Revere America campaigned in more than twenty states for common sense policies that advance free markets, patient choice and long-term prosperity. House Speaker John Boehner was the first elected official to take Revere America’s pledge to repeal and replace the health care law and I applaud his leadership and those members of both parties who stand with him to reverse this disastrous policy.
“The pending legislation not only repeals the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, but accompanying resolutions also direct House committees to devise new and better market-based solutions. Revere America is committed to working with lawmakers of both political parties -- and is already working closely with the nation's governors -- to find constructive replacements for the current, ill-conceived health care law. The legislation now under consideration in the House is an excellent start to that effort.”
