January 19, 2011 — Press Release: Revere America’s Letter to Congress
Washington, D.C., Jan. 19, 2011 – Marianne Zuk, President and Chief Executive Officer of Revere America sent the following letter to Members of Congress in support of H.R. 2, the “Repealing the Job-Killing Health Care Law Act”:
Dear Representative:
Revere America strongly supports H.R. 2, the “Repealing the Job-Killing Health Care Law Act,” and it will count a vote in favor of the legislation as a Key Vote in its assessment of lawmakers in the 112th Congress.
Revere America, a grassroots organization, has campaigned across the country for the repeal and the replacement of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). The House of Representatives now has the chance to do both by approving the pending legislation and its accompanying resolutions. Passage of the bill and resolutions will advance Revere America’s common sense goals of advancing free markets, enhancing patient choice and boosting America’s long-term prosperity.
Revere America is committed to working with lawmakers of both political parties -- and is already working closely with the nation's governors -- to find constructive replacements for the current, ill-conceived health care law. The legislation now under consideration in the House is an excellent start to that effort.
On behalf of the 1.1 million people who signed Revere America’s petition to repeal and replace the federal health care law – we urge swift and bipartisan passage of the pending legislation. We look forward to working with you to devise market-based alternatives this year.
Sincerely,
Marianne Zuk
President and Chief Executive Officer
Revere America
