Press Release: Revere America’s Letter to the Senate
February 2, 2011
Dear Senator:
Revere America strongly supports an amendment expected to be offered by Sen. Mitch McConnell to the “FAA Air Transportation Modernization and Safety Improvement Act,” which would repeal the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act” (PPACA), and it will count a vote in favor of the amendment as a Key Vote in its assessment of lawmakers in the 112th Congress.
Revere America, a grassroots organization, has campaigned across the country for the repeal and the replacement of PPACA. The Senate has the chance to do both by approving the McConnell amendment. Its passage will advance Revere America’s common sense goals of advancing free markets, enhancing patient choice and boosting America’s long-term prosperity.
Revere America is committed to working with lawmakers of both political parties -- and is already working closely with the nation's governors -- to find constructive replacements for the current, ill-conceived health care law. The McConnell amendment is an excellent start to that effort and is consistent with the legislation recently passed by the House of Representatives.
On behalf of the 1.1 million people who signed Revere America’s petition to repeal and replace the federal health care law – we urge swift and bipartisan passage of the amendment. We look forward to working with you to devise market-based alternatives this year.
Sincerely,
Marianne R.P. Zuk
President and Chief Executive Officer
